Client Pipeline

Inquiry → Consultation → Contracted → Birth → Postpartum → Closed. See every client relationship at a glance.

Birth Preferences & Outcomes

Structured birth plan form linked to each client, ready to print or share with hospital staff. After the birth, document outcomes in a dedicated birth story record for your notes, client debrief, and certification requirements.

On-Call Rotation & Alerts

Assign who's on-call each day with primary + backup highlighted. Due-window clients trigger automatic SMS and in-app alerts so the right doula is notified when labor begins.

Contract & Invoice Vault

Upload signed contracts, track retainer and final payment status. Everything in one place per client.

Through the visits

Visit Notes & Charting

SOAP-style charting for prenatal, birth, and postpartum visits. Customizable Form Builder, the same one IBCLCs use.

Mood Screening Tools

Administer validated postpartum mood screening (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale and PHQ-4), auto-scored and ready to share with the client's provider. Often the first line of awareness for PMADs.

Client Portal

Your clients can view upcoming appointments, access birth preferences, message you securely, and review postpartum visit notes, all from their own portal login.

Frequently asked

Can I bill insurance for doula services?
Yes. Doula Hub submits claims with CPT codes S9001 and 99501 pre-loaded, and there are no per-claim fees on top of the monthly rate. Coverage genuinely varies: Medicaid doula benefits differ state by state and commercial coverage is still expanding, so LactaRoute tracks which payers accept doula claims in your region rather than promising blanket coverage.
What if I'm both a doula and an IBCLC?
Turn on Doula mode from your existing provider account in Team settings. There's no separate signup and no extra charge, and your clients, calendar, and charting stay unified across both credential sets.
Does it work for a team of doulas sharing call?
Yes. You assign who is on call each day with a primary and a backup, and clients inside their due window trigger automatic SMS and in-app alerts so the doula actually on call gets notified when labor starts.
Is the Find a Doula directory listing extra?
No, it's included in the $39. Listings are only visible for active subscribers, so families browsing the directory reach doulas who are currently practicing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account starts on a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. If you don't subscribe at the end of it, the account moves to the free plan rather than being deleted, so nothing you entered is lost.
Is client information stored securely?
Yes. Doula Hub runs on the same HIPAA-compliant infrastructure as the rest of LactaRoute: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit, full audit trails on record access, and signed BAAs with our infrastructure sub-processors.
