Yes. LactaRoute runs on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure with signed BAAs for our infrastructure sub-processors (AWS, Anthropic, Spruce Health, Office Ally), AES-256 encryption at rest and in transit, full audit trails on every PHI access, and an automatic idle session timeout you can set as short as 5 minutes.
Can I try LactaRoute for free?

Does LactaRoute work for multi-provider practices?
Yes. The Pro plan adds multi-provider scheduling, round-robin booking, a team hub with chat and announcements, role-based access control, and commission-based payroll. Pro includes your first provider; each additional clinical provider is $20/month.
Does LactaRoute support insurance billing?
Yes, on the Plus and Pro plans. LactaRoute generates superbills, submits 837P claims to Office Ally via SFTP, verifies eligibility through Availity before the visit, and tracks each claim from submitted through paid, including the 835 remittance.
How does the AI scribe work? Is my audio stored?
Record the visit and the scribe transcribes it, then drafts your SOAP note with the assessments scored. Transcription runs through Deepgram, Groq, or OpenAI Whisper depending on availability; note drafting runs through Anthropic's Claude; and LactaRoute does not keep the audio after transcription. Every drafted note is reviewed and approved by you before it saves; the scribe assists, your clinical judgment decides.
Does LactaRoute offer telehealth?
Yes. Integrated HIPAA-compliant video visits are a $10/provider/month add-on on the Plus and Pro plans, powered by encrypted real-time streaming. Video is never recorded or stored; only session metadata such as start time and duration is saved to the clinical record.
Can I import my existing client list?
Yes. There are direct importers for IntakeQ and Practice Better that bring across clients and appointments, plus a CSV importer that handles exports from SimplePractice, Jane App, and most other systems. Clinical record import is currently IntakeQ only. If your export is unusual, send it to us and we will map it for you.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Your account drops to the Free plan. No charges, no data loss. You keep booking, calendar sync, and client management, and you can upgrade at any time to restore the rest.
Does LactaRoute work outside the US?
Yes. LactaRoute is compliant with HIPAA (US), GDPR (EU/UK), and PIPEDA (Canada). The platform supports international use with multi-regulation compliance built in.
